Well I had a party in my dreams And all the old gang was there There was Daphne doing shots of whiskey And Danny with his real cool hair Well Bob he put on old his Fender And Tom was over on his kit And Jeffrey he picked up his Rickenbacker bass And mom and dad they pitched a fit They pitched a fit Yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah The gang's all here Yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah The gang's all here Bring the good cheer Well the party went for days and days And everyone got real stoned The house it spun like a crazy carousel Till the neighbors said the cops were phoned But that just made Bob play louder And Tom banged harder on his snare And Jeff he churned out a mean bass line What the fuck did we give a care We didn't care We really dug each other We were partners in crime Yeah we really dug each other We had a killer good time Well this party it came to end And we all felt pretty wasted We reveled in our debauchery And all the good times that we had tasted Well Bob packed up his trusty Fender And Tom took down his old drums And Jeff unplugged his bass guitar Yeah that dream for me it still hums It still hums

I got all the answers And I can tell you what you need to do If you follow my instructions You will find yourself a buried clue I am your bestest bet As close to God as you will get We are marching to Shibboleth With the eagle and the sword We are praising Zion till her death Until we meet our last reward If I seem a bit opaque That's because you're a philistine You're not good enough to kiss my ring Or understand just what I might mean I come from another breed I fulfill a certain human need Don't ask questions Just you follow me And I will lead you by your nose If I seem a bit superior It's because I am I suppose I will love you like a child You will look at me beguiled Marching, marching to Shibboleth Marching, marching to Shibboleth Marching, marching to Shibboleth Until we meet our last reward

When I think about my childhood And all the kids that I knew I remember names and I remember faces A lot of memories accrue You and me we both loved music And so we went and started a band I wanted us to be like the Beatles To live that life firsthand We thought that we would really make it I can't say that I know you Or know just where you been But I can I say that I knew you I knew you when We moved out to New York City And we practiced nearly every day We saw eye to eye on almost every little thing We knew what each other would say Well people they sort of dug us Would come a ways to see our shows We played our freaking hearts out To the kids in the very last rows We thought that we would really make it Why oh why didn't we Why oh why didn't we Why oh why didn't we Why oh why didn't we fly One day I got myself a new girlfriend And you got a job selling cars We didn't have the time to write our songs Or sing to people in seedy bars Now I am pushing on 60 And you are right up there too Don't expect that you will ever think about me And I don't know what to think of you We thought that we would really make it

I went to grad school And got some advanced degrees I learned about physics And the mating call of bees I got real smart, much smarter than most But what I pursued was a ghost What have I learned and what have I got Am I better man Has it all been for naught Where am I going And what will I find For all my knowledge I don't know my own mind I spend my days pursuing pursuits I chase them down in my scuffed-up mental boots Is it all academic, does it make any sense Am I only living in the present tense I'm the man who wasn't there I'm the man who wasn't there When I lived I occupied time and space But when I left I did not leave a trace Wish I was smarter and knew where I was going Everyone around me Somehow seems more knowing All these things I do Don't make me feel fulfilled When it comes to living life I guess I'm not that skilled

Will the world end up going to hell Only time will tell Or will things wind up turning out well Only time will tell There are troubles in the middle east Troubles in the midwest too Everyone is unhappy, yeah What's a body to do People say they want their freedom They want it ASAP They are ready to die in the streets They're filled with a certain esprit Some folks they get the good stuff Some folks have all the fun But if you are just a little bit patient, yeah You too will have your day in the sun

Must admit I've seen better days for sure Seems I got a disease for which there is no cure Can't afford to go out on the town or even pay my rent All because of my arrested development Sooner or later Gotta grow up or fall apart Sooner or later But now's a good time to start It used to be cool to act like a child Scream and yell and get down and get totally wild But when you push thirty well it's not so keen Whaddya do once your angry young man vents his spleen Tough to keep up Tough to keep pace Tough to stay in the human rat race Tough to bend And tough to grow Tough to always be in the know Life is hard Life is mean You're either out or you're in-between Life is cruel Life is cold It's no fun growing old You used to look good but now well not so much You used to be hip but now you have lost touch Used to be plugged in to any sudden trend Now you've no idea what's coming around the bend

Come Away 06:04
When you get down, down so bad And you don't know where to go There's a place, a place not from here It's a place I bet you know Kick off your boots, unpack your sorrows And just let go of your woe Home, home on the range Where the deer and the antelope play Where seldom is heard a discouraging word And the skies are not cloudy all day When you get broke, broke and blue And you don't know which way to turn There's a town around the bend It's a town for which we all yearn Here's a map, here's your destination They're waiting there for your return Come away, come away Let go of your troubles and your strife Come away, come away Build yourself a brand-new life When you get lost and can't find your way And hope has vanished like a trifling sigh Don't give up and don't give in Don't hold up your hands and say why oh why There's a dream, a dream for you A dream that just refuses to die Home, home on the range That is where, that is where I belong Take me back, take me back Well I yearn, well I yearn for your song

Bang, bang, boom, boom Bang, bang, boom, boom C'mon and bang the drum Bang the drum The good hate the bad And the bad hate the good They want to blow each other up And they'd do it if they could The righteous hate the sinners But the sinners couldn't care And all the bald old men Hate the men with all the hair The Jews hate the Muslims And the Muslims hate the Jews The whites they hate the blacks It's always in the news Conservatives hate the liberals And the Christians hate the gays Everywhere you look It's a hating craze What's with all the hate What does it get us It gets us nothing Nothing at all

Scoundrels 04:34
There was Dan and there was Daisy There was Jeff and there was Maisy Together they were all a little bit crazy Yeah, oh yeah They made for a funky quartet Wanna know how scary they could get Well you ain't seen nothin' yet Man, oh man They were scoundrels, wicked scoundrels They hurled their sticks and their stones They were scoundrels, nasty scoundrels They were bad in their bones They tore up the whole countryside In a red Trans Am with some flames on the side They looked so cool in their hopped-up ride Yeah, oh yeah Stole from the poor and gave to the rich In a rather unorthodox switch They left my grandma lying in a ditch Boy, oh boy Dan dined on human flesh And Daisy picked the remains Jeff had a taste for Type O blood And Maisy sucked on the veins Dan and Daisy they died pretty young He ate her liver and she ate his tongue All that remained was a pile of dung Yeah, oh yeah Jeff and Maisy they moved the Valley They opened up a bowling alley They had a daughter and they named her Sally Sweet, real sweet

What was that What was that sound It always seems to happen When there’s no one around Wish I could describe it Just so I can be clear ‘Cause every time I hear it I feel fear It’s not in the closet It’s not under the bed It’s a slight disturbance in my mind It’s not in the walls It’s not in the world outside It’s a slight disturbance in my mind It’s kinda spooky It kinda freaks out It’s got an ugly mug And a piggy snout I think it knows me It calls out my name Wish I understood it Wish I knew its aim I hear it breathing I hear its laugh The look in its eyes Cuts me in half I wanna kill it Wanna send it back to hell But it lives within me Inside my every cell

Badass 04:42
You can kick me when I'm down But don't you cry for me With your tears of a clown There's nothing you can say will ever hurt me And once I get away you'll be dirt to me I'm a badass Just a badass I'm bad, I'm bad You can smack me in the face You can scream at me and get on my case But you can't penetrate my tough force field You won't catch me crying or see me yield I'm a badass Just a badass I'm bad, I'm bad You can sock me square in the teeth But you can't touch what is underneath I have an armor as thick as lead So go ahead and punch me in my big fat head I'm a badass Just a badass I'm bad, I'm bad

Sayonara 05:16
I read the news today, oh boy
It shook me down to my very core
A limousine was blazing through the streets Its sirens were cranking full bore And I say, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye Sayonara, adieu Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye Sayonara, adieu I read the news today, oh boy
It shook me down to my very soul
A man was ascending to his throne He was breathing through his blowhole He flapped his arms like some strange bird He was speaking shibboleth I read the news today, oh boy
It 'bout scared me half to death
A man he was turning red with rage
He was holding in his big fat breath

about

I hear it breathing
I hear its laugh
The look in its eyes
Cuts me in half
I wanna kill it
Wanna send it back to hell
But it lives within me
Inside my every cell
