Every religion has its own mythology
That somehow mirrors our own pathology
Most of it is pretty far-fetched and most the truth is stretched
But we take it the way it's doled
It's salvation bought and sold
Uncertainty is an uncomfortable position
But certainty is an absurd one
Why not celebrate the vastness of our ignorance
And be a possibilian
Every religion has its own narrative
A categorical imperative
But little of it makes any sense
It hinges on you being dense
The blind leading the dumb
Might as well suck your thumb
We know way too little about our own minds
To deny the Lord in all his glory
And we know just way too much to stick to
Any one particular story
Why not revel in possibilities
Every religion has its own naysayers
The kind of people who make up prayers
They are treated with disdain
Like something big must be wrong with their brain
Why not try an alternative that reflects the way you live
